I must start this by first explaining my expectations of this game. Crossfire is a MMOFPS published by Suba Games, and on the crossfire website are two trailer videos. One obviously not a gameplay clip the other is gameplay. The first video you would think is giving you a peek into the planned visuals and gameplay features. Not so. I would have felt better never seeing this clip. The second is more of the reality of the game. It does show gameplay, but they used a little movie magic to make the clip exciting. I like to think my expectation are fair with this game. I wasn’t looking to play Call Of Duty or something like Counter Strike. I didn’t want it to be like Unreal or play like Combat Arms. I only wanted what was advertised to me on the site, and they failed to deliver.

I know that those who play the game and love the game will immediately dismiss this review thinking that I “only gave this a bad rating because of the graphics.” So I will not start with graphics in the hope that that small group will see and understand that this is not that type of review. The backdrop of Crossfire is the clash of two independent military organizations. Global Risk is an organization made up of ex-soldiers and special forces members that serve the interest of rich and powerful governments. Black List are a group of mercenaries who are terrorist for hire. The best I could say about Crossfire is that it is a functional game. When I mentioned this to Dmajor he replied “oh no…that’s like saying ‘shes has a good personality‘ “. And with that statement it sums up my entire experience with this game. Crossfire is not a bad game, but its not amazing either. It feels like just another FPS thrown in the mix. It has nothing that makes it stand out and begs to be played.

The game contains some of the typical modes of gameplay. A team match without respawn where you eliminate the other team or complete an objective. Another team match with respawn and a kill limit to reach. Annihilation which is the first team match I described without the objectives to complete, and Ghost Match. In ghost match Black List mercs are cloaked and can only use knives to complete an objective. The objective of the Global Risk team is to prevent that Black List from completing their objective. Missing are the regular death match and capture the flag. I think the missing modes are forgivable because the game is ment to be one side against the other.
