Every now and again I run across a flash game that is just so much more than the rest of the hundreds of thousands of horrible crappy ones out there. Material Sniper is one of those games that shows that the flash platform can produce a very high quality gaming experience. All thanks goes to reddit for me finding this wonderful game. Although the majority of the game is not in English you will not need a translation to understand what is going on.
The first thing that caught me of guard about the game was the game’s soundtrack. I don’t know if it’s an original soundtrack or not, but it is good. The music is in that typical upbeat swing that you find in games like Marvel vs. Capcom. You will find it hard to sit still while playing this game.
This little game is packed with a big presentation of features. As you progress from stage to stage in the game you will gain CP which I will refer to as credit points. From the main screen you can choose to Skill Up, Customize your gun, and change your home. From the skill up screen you can improve five areas that will help you during play. You can increase your scope size, improve concentration, improve your muzzle control, increase reload speed, and magazine capacity. Under gun customization there are various different scopes and gun modifications that can be purchase using your credit points. Changing the home was one of those huh!? moments for me. I had never seen a sniper game where you could change the dwelling of your character. Well in Material Sniper improving the place where you lay is a good way to improve some of your stats. Also from the home screen you can access the options for the game.

Playing the game is very easy to understand and is very straight forward with the controls. Your view in the game show you a zoomed in scope looking across an area. Using the mouse to look around and the left mouse button to shot is as simple as it gets. Reloading is done with the Z key and holding your breathe for a more controlled shot is done with the space bar. Another helpful control is the zoom out using the Shift key. This will give you a view of the area without the scope in the way. This helps when trying to locate a target. The lower panel shows a view of your character which I thought was very original. You see your character taking the shot, reloading the gun, and holding her breathe. The anime styling of the character and her animations are amazing. The panel also shows remaining ammo, remaining breathe, and wind direction.
This is a very big game in a small package that is of the highest quality. I have bookmarked this game and you should also. You will be playing this game for a long time to come. The game is a work in progress. Although not complete this game is still very very good.
